The Buffalo Bills lost to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football, 25-6, but something more important then the game, was what happened at halftime.

One of the greatest Buffalo Bills of all-time and only the third out of all the Buffalo Bills who ever played for the team had their jersey retired. That being the No. 34 of running back Thurman Thomas.

All you have to do is look at some of the accomplishments Thomas had as a Bill to see he deserves this honor:

  • Franchise leading rusher – 11,938 yards

  • Franchise leader in yards from scrimmage – 16,279

  • NFL MVP in 1991

  • Offensive Player of the Year in 1991

  • League leader in yards from scrimmage from 1989 to 1992

  • Inducted into the Bills’ Wall of Fame in 2005

  • Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007

Yes, Thomas deserved this honor.
