Unfortunately, Jets running back Bilal Powell’s career might have ended on a hit that seemed more then routine. However, the hit caused an injury to Powell that he might not have even known the severity at the time.

Powell was tackled by Anthony Barr, linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings, last weekend and got up almost immediately after the hit. But, the hit caused a disc injury for Powell and he was placed on season-ending IR as the injury will require surgery.

All that is known is that it is a disc injury and the full extent of the injury will not be known until after the surgery. The bad news is that the injury could be career-ending. Plus, Powell is in a contract year so the worse thing possible, has come at the worse time.
